1901 Pan-American Exposition Official Medal. HK-289. Brass. NGC MS-65. Rarity-3. Attractive light brass color with a few shallow scuffs on the high points of Brewster’s impressive design. On the reverse the Western Hemisphere map is shown, with the symbol of the Exposition to the right, vertical lettering in left on the Exposition. A desirable Gem example of this medal, and of historical importance in that President McKinley was shot by an anarchist terrorist on September 6, 1901 while greeting citizens and died several days later from his wounds.
